It's not like everything DEEN has done is awful.. Rurouni Kenshin OVAs, Read or Die OVA, Read or Die TV, Fruits Basket, Simoun, Zipang, Amatsuki, Shion no Ou, the Maria Sama series etc.
It's just you shouldn't expect good production values from Studio DEEN unless it's an OVA series. Still I'm hoping that Mago gets a budget.. thankfully at least the character designs are fairly close to the manga, that's something a lot of adaptions get wrong from the get go..
