Hmm? I didn't really notice much of a change in Lacus from GS to GSD. She seems like her same old "hi I'm Lacus Clyne and everybody loves me" self in both series.
Now Kira...he's a different story. He went from being a bit Shinji-esque in GS to this like, unstoppable badass in GSD. But I think that with his character, the writers were kinda in a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" sort of situation, because many people complained about Kira being too whiny in GS. So they make him an ice-cold killer who decimates everyone he comes up against...but now he's too different from the original Kira.
I personally don't mind Kira's attitude change for the most part (he couldn't cry forever, afterall) and the fact that his skill is above everyone else's kind of makes sense to me. But I do think they could've made him show some more emotion, staying completely stoic no matter what seems more like a Heero/Domon thing than a Kira thing.
