She is the control unit that powers the Mariage units that rampage Mid in SSX. As long as Ixpellia is awake, the Mariage units will continue to cause chaos in the world, which is why she goes back to her 'stasis mode' so to say at the end of SSX. It's a cute tear jerking moment between her and Subaru, who has really grown fond of Ix.

Ok then what exactly is a "Mariage unit"? Are they the same as the "Gadget Drones" from StrikerS?
