Not only his voice, but one of the artbooks mentions he got picked up by a Guild ship passing by. Not to mention there's an official art of the group down on Earth with someone cut off waving at them who's wearing a familiar Guild uniform... :X
I hope with the new Travelers of the Hourglass manga, we get more information about that. I still haven't seen the second chapter if it anywhere, though...

When we see the shot of Al, there's someone standing behind her. This is the most HD shot I have of it.
The vague design I can make out reminds me of Vincent, but... :|a WHO COULD IT BE.
