"Definie 'Silicates'?" Ron looked at me as if I was mad.
"Synthetic lifeforms." I shrugged. "Robots. Alien Robots. Maybe."
"Robots." Jeff laughed. "So, the BETA are attacking TSFs because they think they're alive?"
"Just my guess."
"Right." Dennis scoffed. "So the BETA don't think organic life is alive, but they think silicate-based life is alive."
"Yep. And most likely their 'creators' are a bunch of robots that use organic technology." I ended up scratching my nose--gotta stop doing that, it makes me look like I'm fibbing. "And that's probably why BETA attack TSFs and mechanical weapons--they think a rival synthetic lifeform is trying to disrupt their mining operations."
Den, Ron, and Jeff shook their head as one entity. I could almost swear Ron was dialing the national institute ofr mental health.
"I don't think communicating with the BETA is the solution." I reiterated. "But maybe having silicate lifeform formally represent humanity, maybe even declare they're protecting us. Hell, maybe even give the BETA's creator fair warning before they kick them off the planet."
"Allright, wiseguy." Dennis grumbled. "Do
YOU know any silicate-based lifeforms that are gonna stick their neck out for humanity?"
It was at that moment a large convoy truck, blue with red flames, stopped nearby. A very familiar vehicle, with a very familiar red emblem on it's side.
"Yeah, as a matter of fact." I had this huge grin on my face. "I know one."
