Okay..i got some questions concerning the Type Moon world:


1) What is the Holy Grail in this story? The cup that Christ drank from the Last Supper or his descendant ( anyone read the Da Vinci Code?)

2) What's the role of the Church and the council of Mages in all of this?

A gate to obtaining the 3rd Magic; Life. Thus a way to gain access to immortality, or bringing someone back from the dead.

Note: Shirou was not killed by Lancer, in the game, it was mentioned that he was on the verge of death.

The Church is to provide a manager for the Grail War, because of the reckless devestation caused by the 3rd Grail War (play Hollow Ataraxia for more info on this). Also, they're to keep the existence of the war secret from the public.

The Mage Council send representatives to participate for the Grail War, but remain neutral during the war, other than making sure no one else knows about the Grail War.
