Agreed. Rikka may not have been in chuuni mode at the time of her father's death, but her mother deceiving her over such life changing information could make Rikka feel like she never wanted to have anything to do with her mother again. I know from personal experience that some
women (not just young teenage girls) will hold what become life-long grudges of the "I'll never speak to you again" variety with their own sisters or mother. Two years is nothing. Try twenty and going strong.
