8 God ranking beasts guarding it actually, not 16. The '16' is from that there's 16 extra Gods you have to face after you got the item and want to leave, they're guarding the exit
Even if you somehow managed to beat down 8 Gods, good luck beating twice as many as you just did, even if you have arguably now have the best gear in AW
