Yeah. This shouldn't be surprising at all
though strangely, this would kind of be annoying if it wasn't for the fact that these guys weren't military. Gives them a bit more weight to them.
Though it's awfully convenient that the ONE guy with monster ear fetish gets to be sent to a fantasy kingdom
