Interview 2 is online at
official website. (Iwasaki Yasutoshi x Okada Yasuhiro)
Staff List for PV1
PV Director:
Iwasaki Yasutoshi (Nisemonogatari storyboard, Soremachi animation director)
Animation Character Designer:
Nakamura Naoto (Madoka Magica opening animation director, Sword Art Online ep 3, 10 animation director.)
Alternate Dimension Design:
Doroinu (Gekidan Inukare)
Creature Design:
Terao Hiroyuki (Madoka Magica Movie assistant director, Strike Witches mechanic designer)
Some new information from the interview:
- Director and animation character designer will change every PV.
Edit: The way it is written could mean both director and animation character designer (Nakamura Naoto) or only director. The latter is more likely.
- Each PV has its own theme, but they're letting the director and staffs do whatever they want.
- Since main (animation) staff change every PV, you might suddenly see a new character in some PV.
- Alternate dimension for fighting scene was designed by Inukare's Doroinu.
- Iwasaki-san was asked to do the PV after anime of the same genre finishes production.
- They want Prism Nana to not be like their other show.
- It is intended to looks like a "genki-kei" (energetic) Sunday morning show but not completely aimed for kids. Result of that is the scene near the end where they shoot off creature's head.
- Full PV1 is 90 seconds.
Regarding the background settings:
- "Are there mass driver in the middle of town in the [original] settings?" "No. [...] But from my personal image, it would be easier to give a hint about Itaru's dream if Nanagou is a space development town and launches rocket into space every now and then using that driver."
- "Itaru is a daughter of a car maker's president."
- "Since Itaru settings is a mecha-loving girl, she turns an old warehouse into her own garage and make her own Scooter there. Too bad I'm unable to put that scene into the PV. That's why the PV starts with Itaru's Scooter's scene instead."
- "Three person seeing Asuka off in beginning is Asuka has older brothers, they all have siscon/brocon-like relationships."
It's worth nothing that Prism Nana's animation producer, Okada Yasuhiro was an production manager of
Madoka TV series and now an animation producer of
Madoka movies.
Edit: some clarification
