Ciel's a really great character, though, so I don't mind him even though I hate kids in anime...
If you can take alot of gore, watch
Hellsing, where there's only two very manly women and no romance at all. The lead's an adult male (vampire).
How about
Mushishi, which has only one adult male and is very episodic?
