And, other than Pavlin and Ichi, all the Silver Saints they've fought so far have died...

No way in hell they replace Saori with Aria or Aria's baby. Saori Kido is still the central figure of the Saint Seiya mythos. And the main reason Kouga is fighting. They even had Pavlin remind the audience that Saori, "the real Athena", is still alive. She being drained is just a convenient time limit for Sanctuary 2.0.

Either way, my point is that from a narrative standpoint giving Aria a dramatic, well-done death scene with meaning is better that keeping her alive while fading into the background for the upcoming 12 Houses arc.
Ichi not dying just proves that once those cloths are gone the Saints are still alive. Being unconscious does not mean dead.

Saori can be reborn as she cycles every 250 years and be raised by Aria. No one's mentioned yet if she's near the end of her cycle. She's prob been in a few cycles where she died before her time and the Saints kept their end up. This cycle could be one of them.

As Aria is appealing to the current otaku generation, I find it hard to believe that she is going to be killed or irrelevant to the rest of the series after the Thunder core is obtained.
