I think the real issue with the Japanese skating team is not who is there, but who isn't there.
Mao Asada, who many consider to be their best skater, is a year too young to compete in the Olympics. She is the first female skater to land
two triple axels during a competition.
The three female individual skaters representing Japan are,
Miki Ando,
Shizuka Arakawa and
Fumie Suguri.
