As for this being a failed adaptation... I really think they did a great job of actually keeping it entertaining. It remains to be seen if they can tie stuff together by the end but stuff made sense to me as an anime only viewer up until this episode (and well, this one episode isn't supposed to make sense
). It's a given that they'd skip out a lot when one of the longer VNs gets crammed into a 12 episode anime series. At least this anime has a presentation and touches that make it unique and not just a wannabe direct transplant of VN story with massive cuts and such.
