No offense, but is Haruto utterly incapable of reading situations unless someone spells it out for him?
If the girl you like never really paid much attention to you, hardly talked to you, and ran off when you tried to confess, one would think it was a sign of rejection.
At least Akari would make a little more sense; he knows her a lot better, understands her, and can communicate with her without acting like a total idiot.
