If they say it shipped then the problem has nothing to do with B&N but with the postal servce.
You need to contact B&N and let them know that it seems your order has been lost in the mail. You better first find out how long the time period is before they accept an item is lost, it's might be 2 months or so before they (B&N) can claim back from the postal service. I'm sure their Q&A page will cover missing items.
