Well, the biggest plot point that sticks out in my head is that weird thing that Tsuruya dug up in the 7th novel, right on the hill that Haruhi hid those chocolates the girls made for Kyon and Koizumi. We still know NOTHING about it. I think that plot thread alone is enough reason for me to conclude that the eleventh novel was definitely NOT the end. It has Chekhov's Gun written all over it.
