Her saving his life, I was purely referring to the instance of him falling down. I'll make a quick gif of it
in a few minutes, as its pretty clear that he gets cushioned. The rest was a hand-wavy explanation as to how he survived and/or managed to bend metal with his body, no real basis for it.
No clue, all I know is that Amata was able to resist Kagura's power when he threw aside his attachments to the past. I guess a car is attached to the past...
