Seed Destiny failed in its EXECUTION... In that the grunts were indeed nameless grunts who wasted frames with recycled explosions while screaming "My life has no meaning!" and 00 at least named the grunts and gave them a small personality before killing them off in a shinier death- thus winning the respect of Gundam Fans everywhere...
Destiny COULD HAVE BEEN good, but it wasn't due to its awesomely bad sub-plots overshadowing the main story- which was war remember? Not the pink Zaku or Meer's breasts... -__- All about execution.
There is no being "realistic" in an anime, but the way Destiny made them untouchable got ridiculous. Sure 00 characters get a magical boost when it got tough, but at least they have their limits... We saw this when they were nearly defeated before the Trinity team came along. Lockon even mentioned the need to have food or a bathroom break in a 12-24 hour battle. XD Now that's down to earth...
