That's because Murasaki's story was the first arc of the series and naturally she no longer becomes the main focus, which imo has always been Shinkurou. She does however still make her presence known in each arc and even does a few things reminiscent of her impressive maturity displayed in her own arc. The manga does have it's dark and serious moments (the light novels even more, I hear), they just weren't done in the ovas.
In the end, these ovas are just little treats to the manga readers but at the same time such a damn tease about the possibility of seeing a second season looking like that
. I enjoyed them very much.
