I think that hyperlion is right that this recording was probably made over 200 years earlier when this guy was alive. Considering the digital technology of today any recording would have no quality loss and last virtually forever. So he could have made multiple recordings to be used later on and they'd all look brand new. Watching again what he said in his monologue to the world in episode 1 he does not mention any power by name in particular and only mentions his organization will interfere in the actions of any other organization,country,etc that continues war. With such a broad and vague statement, his recordings would not have an expiration date and could be used any time including today in our era for example and still have the same impact.

When he mentions Gundams will end war, what if what we think is Gundam (i.e. the Mobile Suit) is not what he thought of at the time, but rather a code word for a yet to be made super weapon to end all war. But he never saw his dream realized and left it to his organization to create "Gundam" in the future (whatever it may be) to fulfill his wishes. Whenever the mobile suit came around and became the battle decider, maybe Celestial Being at the time decided to make a more advanced mobile suit to become the "Gundam" that the first Celestial Being's leader wanted. This research could have culminated into 0 Gundam that Setsuna saw in episode 1 and branch out into the current Gundams seen in the series so far.

Therefore Celestial Being could be an organization created a long time ago and the current successor to the first leader could use his recordings, name and funds to perhaps fool everyone in Celestial Being such as the pilots, crew and those that created "Gundam" into thinking that they fight to end war but will rather be used for some other purpose later in the series. I hope something like this may be the case because cryogenics and cloning have been done too often to the point of being passe IMO.

So you might be right indeed. Judging from this, he seems to have created the theory GN Particles technology and might have even advocated using mobile suits? I guess he got fed up with everything and started the whole Celestial Being plot to be carried out years after his death.

Strangely though, it also says they didn't know what year he died (though there seems to be a conflict of info on that screen with 2015 and 2051 as dates of birth for him... The former is probably a typo based on his Japanese bio though)...

BTW, love how they still use Windows XP with custom skin so far in the future.
