By the way Fram is surprised about the invisible umbrella is because it's never equipped on a Mobile Suit(they call it that)/Armor before. Probably a mobile suit does not enough power to use it unlike the much larger ships.

In the manga, Bisidian found the EXA-DB first and engaged SID when fighting off Largan and company, and Asem arrived with his squad. They teamed up and managed to severely damage SID, but SID responded by siccing its repair drones on the Gundam AGE-2 Normal, which quickly overwhelmed Asem and tore the Gundam to pieces. Very much different from this flashback with Asem engaging SID on his own and getting destroyed by beam fire.
