Yeah, it's possible.. Unoptimizing is good but if the size range differences is very far, the higher the chance the gif will get ugly.. Oh, I'm a GIMP user btw.
eg. an optimized gif 500x500 is shrinked to 96x96 (my standard image sized border not included yet)
