Spoiler for anime/game:
Talking about 2nd season is fruitless, as you know if you'd played Fate computer games, Archer is Shirou in the future, so there won't be happy end with Saber,Rin or Sakura. Basically, if they'd destroyed Holy Grail why would Archer/Shirou have appeared? He had to make a pact with Holy Grail to show there, so Holy Grail still exists in the future. Therefore, destroying Holy Grail was meaningless, it didn't change anything, it would be better if Saber'd drunk from Holy Grail, Shirou and Saber would be happy, maybe Shirou wouldn't be hero. To my mind, the plot is weak, btw, why did Archer lose? He was future Shirou, he had countless Noble Phantom. He was great magician. I don't get it either.
I'm very happy that I watched Fate, because I've met the most charming anime female character - Saber, but there are things don't suit each other.
I've watched Berserk, the story was quite similar.
Game, in UBW and HF, Shirou had sex with Rin (once) and Sakura (many times), why did he just once kissed Sabre?

And as I pray...unlimited riposte works!

Spoiler:
Saber drinking the taint of the grail means that she loses her ego, but receives a cursed flesh in return. Normal/ordinary Eireis will lose their ego/mind when exposed to the Grail's taint; only Gilgamesh managed to witstand the taint because, as said in the game/anime, he has been bearing the world's burden for the longest time (symbolised by his possession of Ea, as the truths beyond what the human mind can perceive). That and, his soul is three times greater than any other Eireis.
As mentioned before, Eireis are summoned outside of time. The Grail system is not bound by a linear time system: it even transcends parallel worlds, seeing as Eirei Emiya (known simply as Archer) is from a different timeline/world.
Archer had his ass kicked by Saber before. He wasn't completely recovered from his wounds. To top it off, recalled his memories only at the last moment. Not to mention his mana supply was dwindling due to the fact that his Master, his mana source, was running away. If Rin stayed behind, Archer might have kicked Berserker's ass several times, but not enough.
Eirei Emiya wasn't a great magician. He didn't have control over his abilities. He was only able to unleash his UBW, and his extensive use of tracing abilities allowed him to hone that particular skill perfectly, as well as the weapons that he used through that skill (Rho Aias, Caladbolg II, Hrunting, and especially Kanshou and Bakuya). Especially Broken Phantasm - that skill is a bitch when used (kills a regular Servant with just ONE Caladbolg II shot, yippeh). A great magician would be someone of Rin's caliber, who is able to use thaumaturgy, reinfore her body's physical abilities, create magical barriers to ward off outsiders, etc.
It is actually implied that Archer still has Avalon within him. Eirei Emiya didn't know about the sheath within him that let him live through so many dangers.
Shirou isn't seeking out Saber throughout his life. That betrays his ideals. To people like Shirou and Saber, concepts and ideals are more important.
A STR level of D means strength equal to 20 people. Just an extra information.
