Hhhmmm... this is a hit and miss for me personally. Bakemonogatari plays this
perfectly, but I've seen other anime overplay it badly (a lot of harem comedies come to mind).
Also, I'm not sure which Haruhi character I would want to inflict the pratfalls on... it would ruin Koizumi's image and style, it usually doesn't feel right to me when it's done to female characters, and Kyon suffers enough as it is.
Edit: Maybe trade-off Haruhi's crazy financial penalties for Kyon suffering pratfalls. It would be funnier, and make more sense to me.
