Well, once again my manga knowledge is coloring my interpretation. However, we've never seen Rahzel's magic have a blue glow to it. It's always been pink. (Despite what my sig shows. ) So that's why I assumed Alzeid was using his own magic. (If you remember in episode 4 when everyone was trapped in the cave, Rahzel told the sister that she and the guys weren't really trapped because they could use their magic to leave. That was the anime's first mention of Alzeid being a magic user.)

You noticed that, did you? I have a theory about the relationship between Rahzel and the woman in the flashback. But it involves manga information that the anime hasn't hinted at yet, so I probably shouldn't share it. Plus my theory could be wrong since I'm at v07 while the Japanese version is into v11 at this point.

Spoiler for v01, for full detail on Alzeid and Rahzel's first meeting:
When Rahzel discovers Alzeid holding the gun to the guy's head, like in the anime, she assumes that Alzeid is robbing the guy. She tries to help the victim. In the confusion, the victim claims the gun from Alzeid and runs off with a "see ya, sucker!" farewell to Rahzel. Razhel realizes that instead of Alzeid being the robber, Alzeid had been the victim who had just thwarted a robbery attempt. To apologize, Rahzel offers to buy him lunch during which she asks Alzeid if she can travel with him. He says no; he won't babysit her plus he's on a revenge quest.
After lunch, Rahzel tries again to get Alzeid to let her travel with him. He'll need help retrieving his gun, she argues. Since she's a magic user, she could be very useful. Alzeid says he doesn't need her help. He'll go get it now. Then poof! Alzeid teleports away from her.
Rahzel is astounded. She was taught and genuinely believed that there were some things no magic user could ever do. One of those things was teleportation. Yet here was a guy who had just done the impossible. When she accidentally meets Alzeid a second time, he's caught up with the gun thief. Together Alzeid and Rahzel reclaim his gun. She's more determined than ever to travel with Alzeid and swears that she'll teach him that life's worth enjoying. It's worth more than simply wasting it on revenge for his father's murder. She'll stick with him until he learns his lesson. Alzeid is stunned at her passion and relents, agreeing to let her accompany him.
