Complicated + small warhead
It'll be better to remove the warhead altogether for extra mass of metal or small battery, since it's basically anti-barrier weapon to begin with.
It would be different if the knife may also function a shaped charge weapon without the barrier function, since the explosion is focused, the energy density may be sufficient enough to pierce weak barrier and damage moderate one.
