In Islam (and arabian societies) it's completely fine. My brother is married to my first cousin (mothers are sisters).

I was thinking it's fine because this is a, uhh, "family thing". In our house, if someone is sleeping on the floor, we'll just bring a blanket and a pillow for them. Then again, we have carpet and not wood...
