Lame Bad Gray filler arc
Spoiler for 69-71:
This Bad Gray filler arc is so bad at many levels.
Come on, Natsu so easily defeated by Gray? There is no need for eating super flames, it's pretty clear from all previous events that Natsu is rather superior to Gray, so he wouldn't lose so easily. And I agree w/ Ryus here, no, I go further, the fight itself was terrible.
Lame Daphne and her ridiculous ability to create dragonic warriors mimicking opponents and their magic almost perfectly. They're a bit weaker apparently, but is a small solace (otherwise it would be total absurd). You can just attack everyone w/ many warriors and even if her beasts are weaker than opponents singly, together they would be invincible. Do you see how pointless it is in the core? Is Daphne really so great mage, greater than anyone before?
This Dragonoid doesn't look as powerful and badass as Lullaby for instance, which was slashed quickly and that would be defeated even w/o Natsu back then IMO. Dragonoid takes power from Natsu, so yes, it must be quite powerful, but...
---
Back then I was thinking that Gray did this to finally have a decent fight with Natsu (like Majin Vegeta w/ Goku if you're DBZ-familiar like Mashima is), but it was later repeated a few times that Daphne did not brainwashed Gray at all and he confirmed it.
Today for a moment I thought that Gray did it, because he knew that Dragonoid can be defeated only from inside, but it would be so stupid, that I am speechless (and scared I even thought about it). After all It wouldn't need to make Gray so cocky in front of Erza & Co and other dumb acts. And don't tell me doing it such way would increase Natsu fury and help destroying Dragonoid - he was the one "charging" it in the first place because of his fury...
I really doubt that there can be reasonable explanation in following ep, but I don't really care, because this filler arc is already mediocre and whatever awesome stuff Natsu will do, whichever great secret slayer act he'll conduct in the end, it won't change it. I hope at least it will be something visually appealing, so a bit less time-wasting like recent 2.5 eps. Then we'll finally move forward w/ the real story.
