Don't know japanese, so it's just my thoughst after watching raws

Some speculation...
Zenkichi and Medaka are childhood friends, they have feelings for each other, yet they are not a couple. Why? Medaka is a heir to very rich family, there is a chance, that her parents have found a fiance for her already. I hope I'm wrong.

Or because he deliberately is hiding his true potential, just to allow Medaka shine. I't looks like I was right suspecting arrival of male rival for Zenkichi. Probably a handsome, athletic, almost perfect ... jerk. I hope there will be no drama, and Zenkichi will soon crush that jerk, I don't want to see Medaka falling (or just be mistaken for falling) for that new boy. Some speculation...
