I think this episode was a good for a number of reasons:
1. Introducing the different sets of special eyes known in the Denyuuden world.
2. Showing there's many more awesome characters in this story (looking at you, Luke).
3. Ryner's emotional instability.
4. Further development on Ferris.
Other than that the action was good. That, and Froaude always makes things interesting.
