And here's the unit's techdesc:
Spoiler for White Hammer:
= White Hammer =
The White Hammer is a transformable, bipedal, reverse-joint, non-IS combat machine built by the United States military in secrecy. Its developments is kept secret even from the IS division which developed, also in secrecy, the IS units Silver Gospel and Fang Quake. In an event of an attack whereby even the Silver Gospel and Fang Quake is not enough to deter it, the White Hammer is then deployed under the ambiguous code-name known as the “Snow Maiden Contingency”.
Practically a war machine, the White Hammer is outfitted with an array of armaments which, coupled with its own system requirements, warrants a power source in a form of a central experimental fusion engine. The engine itself is a prototype reactor built solely for use with the White Hammer, producing exponentially huge amounts of power that rivals a few present industrial reactors’ output put together.
The White Hammer is also a huge unit, towering about 2-3 times the height of an IS in its bipedal form. The unit doesn’t sport any noticeable humanoid features as well, more like a tank chassis with a jet-like cockpit protrusion slapped onto a pair of reverse-joint legs. There’s also caterpillar threads located at its calves and another pair folded up behind its main body, these are meant for the White Hammer’s alternate tank mode.
Being the only machine of its kind, the White Hammer boasts a set of armaments unlike any other military units in existence:
= Wasp-10. A pair of semi-active radar homing (SARH) missile launchers mounted in a form of pods on the White Hammer’s shoulders. Each of these pods can fire up to ten missiles in a single volley onto ten different targets with assistance from the unit’s onboard multiple lock-on system.
= Energy Cannons. In place of a left arm, the White Hammer sports a triple-barreled cannon that simultaneously fires three huge bolts of energy in a single squeeze of the trigger. The output of the cannons rivals even IS-class energy weapons and it can even deal extensive damage against an IS barrier shield.
= Auto Cannons. In place of a right arm is a long, double-barreled automatic cannon that fires solid rounds. Huge-caliber, high-velocity and armor-piercing, the bullets fired from these cannons can easily punch through several tanks in its path. Each barrel is affixed with its own independent magazine that holds twenty rounds, giving the White Hammer a grand total of forty rounds to boot.
= Vulcans. The White Hammer sports a pair of these on the underside of its cockpit protrusion. They are six-barreled, electrically-fired Gatling-style rotary cannons meant to pick apart smaller targets or finish off bigger, damaged targets.
= Gauss Cannon, mounted on top of the White Hammer between the two Wasp-10 missile pods. The weapon is a single coil-gun that fires huge, high-velocity explosive solid rounds that can potentially annihilate fortress-type defenses in a single shot. Aside from the long load-up delay between shots, the weapon also has very limited rounds and requires the White Hammer to remain immobile in order to fire if its in bipedal form.
Other features:
- Crawler, the White Hammer’s alternate tank form which involves the unit moving on caterpillar threads on its calves and back. In order to transform, the White Hammer activates the jump-jets under its crotch to keep it afloat while the legs sweep up and the threads on its back unfolds. In this mode, the White Hammer gains greater movement speed but can only traverse a limited range of uneven ground whereby its bipedal form can traverse over hills and rocky terrains with relative ease.
Another advantage for the White Hammer in its Crawler mode is that it can use the Gauss Cannon while moving unlike its bipedal form whereby firing the weapon while moving will cause the unit to topple backwards from the recoil.
