And adds it to WD's power. That's the important part.
That means that if WD's power is y, and his opponents' is x, one iteration of Divine Divider makes it x/2+y vs x/2, so WD has the edge in raw power.
Issei, OTOH, may need several iterations to even be in the same ballpark as an opponent. During which he can't attack.
