I doubt he will die. Don't get me wrong, I think he SHOULD die saving Shu and maybe redeem himself. But so far, the motto of GC has been "Life is not fair. Just because you're doing the right thing doesn't mean you'll get a happy ending. In fact, doing the right think pretty much means you're going to die."
