To have a house before marriage. You can store stuff like anywhere there's barrels and whatnot, but it's not guaranteed to be there later on, except in your house.
If you move in with your spouse, you can get them to relocate. Same with multiple houses.
Level cap is not 50. 50 is just relatively easy to get to; every level after that will be harder to obtain. The actual cap is past 80, or so.
