Personnel Dossier #109: Kha der Kleriker
Name: Lieutenant/Captain Kha Alexei Testarossa.
Alias: der Kleriker, Alexander Khan Rowell (Terran registered name)
Age: ??
Birthday: 12th March (He has no birthday, so Alicia gave him one.)
Zodiac: Anturas, Mid-Childan Goddess of the Ocean
Grade: Mage Class S-. Velka Cleric Diploma Grade 11 as of StrikerS
Height: 175cm
Weight: 75kg
Hair:
8 years old: Boyish unruly black hair
16 years old: Long, obsidian and in a long ponytail
19 years old: Still long, but cut shorter
Eyes: Brown. Wears glasses, low degree. He has perfect eyesight in his Knight Armor form.
Personality: Somewhat serious, somewhat absent-minded, used to being bullied, has a hidden fun side, loves investigating old ruins, waxes lyrical about ancient magiengineering and other branches of sorcerology that often just puzzles everyone else further.
Usual wear: Often in TSAB uniform, though in civilian clothes he'd chose to match a white turtleneck or collared shirt with blue jeans. The Tausend Kreuz in sealed form hangs prominently from his neck on a ball-bearing chain.
Magic Type: Neo-Velka-type, Marine.
Caster Class: Cleric-knight
Armament: The Tausend Kreuz, a legendary holy symbol an inch and a half long and an inch wide made by folding and hammering 1000 enchanted crosses much like how a nodaichi is made. Said to possess soul power thats way off the charts, and has dimensional twins scattered throughout all dimensions of voidspace. When unsealed, it takes the form of a female-voiced intelligent magical cross-spear with a technological twist, as with all other registered devices with the TSAB.
After his "death" from tanking a direct hit aimed at a disabled Silvana (The ship he operates on), it was found in its sealed form, scorched and hanging from a shred of Silvana's armor that had been torn open by earlier attacks. Later, together with Fate's desperate magical outburst, it awakens a memory core buried within the Silvana by the Naaru aeons ago and downloads a new OS (Okay its ancient, but the Naaru built it, so its got to be good... To a certain extent.) and upgrades into the "Tausend Kreuz Sakurazaki". Since then, it has been given the nickname of "Sakura" by the rest of the crew since the magic cross had a female voice and a feminine nature.
Armor:
Knight Armor consists of Casshern body plating, ear-mounted face plate with pointy ear edges, and white, black-hemmed trench coat. His rank (depicted by two consecutive bars) is attached to the shoulder boards of the coat like Terran military uniforms. His “Harsh Environments Confidence”, denoted by an oval lying on its side with a dagger piercing through a branch, and “Advanced Engineering”, denoted by a wrench at a 45 degree angle with a halo and a five-point star around its middle bit, proficiency badges are on the coats left breast area. The face plate can be summoned and dispelled as he pleases, and has most pertinence with the introduction of the Barrier Masks. His device is hooked to his right waist and spare clips in the left thigh pouch. The front and back of his belt sport twin-turbine like fixtures, and along with the rest of the belt they make up the ultra-small “Mithril IV” Lambda Field Generator circuit. His new looks seem ferocious (especially with the face plate on, when his killer eyes are most accentuated) but really he’s still the nice and cuddly Kha. He dispels his coat for more speed if he needs to, and both outer and inner armors are reflective in nature. It is with the coat off that you’d see the Velka “Shield of Light” crest on the outer side of his upper right arm.
When he “died”, he lost his original trench coat. After his return, Hayate makes him another one, this time with her own special design touches. Any promotion in rank would result in a likewise change in the shoulder board rank designs. He also gains a small Japanese radical for “Sakura” near the top left corner of his left breast plate (Both directions are respective to himself) of his inner cybernetic armor.
History
Pre-season 1 Arc
der Kleriker was mentored and later adopted by then-TSAB head of research Dr. Precia Testarossa, who at that time was married to Mr Testarossa, a once-youthful hotshot of the Fleet that age was catching up with. The orphan came to their attention when he demonstrated tremendous technical talent at a tender age of 4. Part of it comes from him hearing what was called the "Whispers of the Ascended" phenomenon. At that time, this occurance was gaining the attention of the big brass of the TSAB, and had tasked the best of their R&D department to look into it and possibly tap into the time-shifted transmissions of the civilisation that created the Lost Logia. Precia, however, grew to regard the young boy like her second child and brought him home if she ever did so, for her research often kept her busy in the lab for days on end. Testarossa may have been a great scientist, but she wasn't so good with her family. Martin hit a plateau, and he grew more and more resentful as he was continually out-done by younger, more able-bodied enforcers of the Fleet and after pushing himself too far, was left stuck at home on long term medical leave with a bad back. He was also somewhat jealous of Precia's high flying career, and often berated her for not spending time at home, and basically blaming her for everything wrong in his life. Precia, however, clung on out of stubborn love and took his frequent beatings without reporting anything, so much like how Fate endured her "mother". Kha saw everything, and especially so on how it was affecting Alicia, and the boy of elemental light tried his best to comfort both mother and child. But there was one day when Martin hit rock bottom, and committed suicide, leaving Precia in an absolute wreck that would soon drive her to madness. (Fate has a memory of a man who The doctor resigned from her post, completely abandoned the Whispers project, and proceeded to bury herself in dangerous research to "regain the past she lost". Kha was then transfered to the charge of another scientist. That day, he promised Alicia that he'll come back for her and take her, and Precia, to a better place.
Halfway through the project, Kha heard that Precia had disappeared after an accident at work. He tried various means and ways to contact Alicia, but every time he'd run into a wall. The research heads decided that having Kha in a disturbed mental state would harm the project and hence passed a directive to keep Alicia's death from him. Kha was told that Alicia had gone back to her birth place in Mid-Childa and, partly because he had no other choice, decided to leave it at that for the time being.
A's
One day, the Whispers suddenly grew soft. As subjects dwindled, so did the project. Kha, then 11 years old, joined the Fleet, and was immediately assigned to Velk, the far-flung homeworld of the infamous Velka knights, as a junior marshal-emissary, due to his Tausend Kreuz being somewhat like a Velka-type intelligent device. As such that he heard nothing of Nanoha, Fate, and Hayate, only the Wolkenreitter and the Book of Darkness when they returned to that planet to farm Linker cores from the native mobs there. He took the Book to be the opposite of the Libram of Devotion, the 999 page rune-skittered tome that held his weapon and that was found together with him as an infant. It was around that time when he roughly understood the workings of the CVK-792, the Velkan magic cartridge system and built a prototype version that uses clips into the Tausend Kreuz.
(Note: These are elements of the plot of "Point of Darkness: A Rietter Story" that would be useful to AlternateS, just to let u know.)
A's Epilogue
It would be years later that Kha would be recalled to the TSAB HQ to be reassigned, this time to the legendary dualship Silvana. The more senior TSAB officers, Chrono included, continued to play the dumb game about Alicia. It almost came apart when he ran into Fate and mistakes her for Alicia. Fate was about to reply when Lindy, who was with her, stepped in. Kha wanders off dissappointed, but none the wiser. Fate begins revealing memories of her "past" that she had kept buried, especially those with Kha in it.
But paper can never mask fire forever, and Kha would learn of the devastating truth about Alicia and Fate. He blames himself for being unable to help Alicia and Precia like he promised, but when he learns that Fate is a clone, he decides to make up for it. For he knows, even with TSAB's awesome technical prowess, all clones have a very limited lifespan, their bodies often slowly falling apart while they're still conscious -the slowly degenerative disease known as 'gemi-stigma'. Knowing Alicia, he understood that the girl wouldn't resent her clone, but would want her to lead as good a life as she could. Only the Whispers have the cure, but the materials needed weren't going to come easy...
A's to StrikerS: The AlternateS arc
After much trials and tribulations, and even suffering a NDE, Kha succeeded in curing Fate of her illness, gained a new weapon, and became the unofficial 4th member of the Aces. He remains stationed on the Silvana, committed fighting at TSAB's harshest frontiers, fighting off the Zerg one day, turning around and beating back the Scrin, taking down the Tarsons head on, repelling Invid invasions and even facing the Burning Heterophobe Legion at the Far Spinward Frontier dubbed "Animesuki-N". The elites armies of the TSAB stand alone against the myraid of creatures and factions that seek to topple the ordered worlds of the TSAB.
But he still remembers the friends he made and the love he left behind. He would learn in time from long range podmail of Lindy's adoption of Erio and laugh at how much Erio resembled himself when he was that age. And sometimes the wheels of fate would bring the Aces together for a short, daunting mission, and when it's over he'd part ways to return to the wars he was meant to fight.
"To keep Fate and Erio safe..."
StrikerS
As of now, Kha is still stationed at Far Spinward Frontier, though fighting has toned down to sporadic bursts, allowing him time to return once in a while. It is during these points of contact that Kha would refine Erio's spear technique. None of the new generation of mages know of his relationship with the Aces, not even Erio, for the seniors decided to keep it a secret lest the boy becomes attached to someone who would never be around for a very long time. Kha was invited to join the Riot 6 when it was formed, but as much as he wanted to return, he turned it down. He still had much to do, but he promised that when his long term posting cycle was over, he'd come home to stay.
Then, as Riot 6 became more involved in their latest case, the defenders at FSF were faced with a sudden great resurgence of Legion attacks. Kha fights on undaunted, knowing that each day that the line holds for means another day of peace for the inner worlds...

Weapon / Device name: The Tausend Kreuz (Thousand Cross) / Tausend Kreuz Sakurazaki (Cherry Blossom Tree)
MODES
Versiegeltform (Sealed Form): A small, plain, silver cross hanging from a steel-beaded chain. At its centre is a blue hemisphere encircled by a small ring.
Vergeltungform (Retribution Form): Replaces the Vorsehung, and is an upgrade that increases the number of beam emitters to 3. The Cross expands, to its fullest length, into a 3-pointed beam spear, with each energy point at right angles to each other like a cross. Clip loading is done by folding, or "breaking", the weapon open at the hinge found in the middle and letting the spent clip(s) slide out before locking a fresh one in (a bit like how one loads a homemade shotgun). The weapon is then armed using the pump-action block attached to a pistol grip above the loading hinge. In this form up to 4 clips can be loaded at once, meaning that any spell cast in this form can draw up to 24 cartridges of power. For example, the "Göttliches Rapier" achieves a whooping 9 meters in length along with the cutting power of an anti ship lance when cast in Vergeltung at full drain.
Sakurazaki refines the complicated loading and discharge process of the handmade CVK by using the Metal Storm cartridge system, allowing more power for less space, and making the weapon simpler and lighter and thus handier as a melee device.
SKILLS
Kha has far more supportive and defensive skills than offensive skills, and relies on synergy to deliver the hurt.
For Versiegelt:
"Segen der Freigabe" (Blessing of Release) - Spoken as "Glühen, Tausend Kreuz" (Shine, Thousand Cross).
Full Release –
"Oh Elemental Light, the Truth, the Justice, the Good, I hand this body up to you." He chanted in German, eyes closed in prayer, as the glow at his throat grew greater and greater.
"I beseech you, protect my allies with all our power."
"Oh Gift of the Naaru..." Kha snapped his eyes open with conviction.
"Shine! Tausend Kreuz Sakurazaki!"
"Matrix, Activation"
And so Sakurazaki took over. The sealed Kreuz floated up, glinted as it spoke and then exploded into a blinding flash. Everything from the neck down of Kha, arms flung out horizontally in a crucifixial position, right down to his skin, eyes closed, was peeled off by the blast and morphed into marine 1s and 0s, leaving a blue digital wireframe of his human form. His glasses dissolved as well. Several rings passed over him from the toes up, painting onto the mahou shounen multiple 'skins' in succession: first, a gray layer of shaded body textures; second, a biege layer etched with blue circuit designs that run down from his hair, by the sides of his face and chin and spread out throughout his muscular body like tatoos. The cybernetics rippled as mana coursed through it, accentuating his well-sculpted nakeness. (Plugs ears from bishounen-fanatics’ squeals)
"Loading Program: Knight Armor in Panzerform"
A carbon-infused rubberized lining melded into place covering him from neck to toe in black overalls gleaming with blue mana circuits. Blu-rays flashed past, drawing a wireframe over his feet and shin. The data from the earlier de-transmutation returned in a cloud of 1s and 0s that coalesced upon that frame, solidifying the defence into reality as it clanged into place. The same buzzing and clanging was repeated everywhere: his thighs, his torso, his arms and hands. Kha flexed his fists like a super robot once that was done.
Another array of lasers and numbers drew and docked a pair of tear-drop shaped ear guards for his head. Sounding like a sword being drawn, the Knight Armor's faceplate materialized from each side and rang metallically as they slammed together in the middle an instant after they appeared. The helm covered der Kleriker's lower face, leaving his windswept fringe and sharp eyes free. Kha's ponytail coiled and twisted on its own, guided by Sakura's settings, into a battle-friendly braid fastened at the end by a metal ring lined with a strip of blue.
With that completed, the trench coat bearing the hallmarks of Hayate's designs drifted into view and slid smoothly onto the mage. Kha shrugged it a little, then coolly gave the collar a tug into place.
"Assemble Weapon"
Sakurazaki's orb core set in a rhombic case crackled blue lightning as it drew parts of her complete self together. The trigular halves of the her spearhead, attracted by the lightning, clanged audibly onto her face, followed closely by the covers for her horizontal vents. Her cylindrical neck extended out from the spearhead, and the 16-cartridge Metal Storm barrel block slotted into the gap on the neck below spearhead as the pistol grip, positioned at right angles to the plane of the spearhead, glided along the groove and locked into place just under the vent covers with a puff of sparks. The tail end of Sakurazaki clunked into a smaller triangular joint that hid another smaller beam emitter within its pinched halves.
"Powering up..."
His coat flaring open in the outward gusts, color starting from his core radiated throughout both of Kha's Knight Armor layers. Kha opened his eyes and grabbed his Kreuz with his right hand, armor whirring mechanically with each action. He posed for a while, when you could almost imagine his background forming something like an eyecatch. He then flicked Sakurazaki outward horizontally, deployed the beam covers and released magic blades from the tail, head and flanks, forming a massive cross-spear. The Cleric then swung Sakura behind him as vernier-like openings in his boots and shoulders kicked into blue fire; Kha surged ahead.
Fast Release - Upon activation, Kreuz gleams at an edge and a pair of marine magic circles bearing the Naaru's winged cross insignia appears above and under Kha, releasing clouds of mana that shroud him completely. When it dissipates Kha would be geared with the Knight Armor and holding the Kreuz in Kreuzfahrer mode. Nothing questionable is seen. (Puts on O2 mask to avoid drowning by shoujo-fanatics’ tears)
Other Knight Armor forms
Jaegerform - Kha's high speed, less defence form. He dispells the trenchcoat, summons Tallgeese-type rocket pods onto half-moon mounts on his shoulders, and mounted jets onto his thighs.
Schneiderform - During the StrikerS arc is still under development.
Offensive
"Göttliches Rapier" (Divine Rapier) - The Cross' basic attack spell. At the lowest power level, the blade doesn't require cartridges to activate and maintain, but as the power is increased, so is the rate and volume at which the cartridges are consumed.
"Geschärftes Rapier" (Sharpened Rapier) - Compresses the broad, tri-bladed Göttliches Rapier into a single beam head of same width as the beam emitter, transforming it into a thinner but more potent blade. Requires 1 CC to activate, along with a higher upkeep. The length varies, sometimes to a quarter of a metre, along with the degree of compression done.
"Leuchtendes Licht" (Brilliant Light) - An instant cast, variably ranged spell that can be fired off in rapid bursts at instant speed or charged for a narrower, defense-piercing and highly accurate shot. Rune circles like Nanoha's shooting mode appears along the spear when the spell is activated. Kha holds the staff with his left hand on the forward pistol grip and the other near his hip on the bottom half of the spear like Nanoha does. Further charging/cartridges can break seals and even more beyond that can penetrate moderate-strength AMF.
“Expulzion” (Expulsion) – requires Segen des Schongebiets. As a skill available only to protection-specialists, Kha when under the effect of the SdS can detonate the protective buff for something like Nanoha’s Barrier Burst, except with greater outward force and with his barrier still intact. While the opponent is disorientated, he follows through with a Säbel attack. Kha also uses this technique to blast through doors when storming rooms.
“Säbel” (Saber) – requires a shield to be present, and the stronger the shield the more powerful the Sabel is. Kha thrusts his Rapier into the shield, adding the defence as attack power into his blade and allowing him to cut through the shield while remaining protected for a couple of seconds before both shield and blade dissipates. After that Kha has to recast the Rapier again. It is meant to be used as a counterattack.
"Spearengriff" (Narrow Reef Spear) - Kha calls it "a variation of the Excelion Buster bayonet charge", a testament to the spell's inspiration, and is normally used with the "Geschärftes Rapier". The beam blades on the flanks of TK Sakura's head sweep back like a F-14 Tomcat's wings then flare out with force, providing a bone-crushing acceleration force of up to 10Gs, before charging ahead. If he uses the Sabel attack as well, the Blessing shield would spin and swell into a massive ring, functioning as a catapult that doubles his maximum acceleration as the shield literally pulls on him to shoot him through like a cannon -think Mai-Otome's Mai Tokiha's fiery charge; at this point, Kha's inner Knight Armor is what stands between an unstoppable charge and him losing both his arms from holding Sakura back! Either way, not even reinforced ship armor can stop him from going through it like a hot knife through butter, especially when protected temporarily by the "Sabel" charge. A weaker version of this spell was subsequently emulated by Erio and Strada.
“Schild Des Rächers” (Avenger’s Shield) – requires a directed shield to be present. And it's Pinball! Kha spins the "Blessing of Protection" in a disc and launches it like a frisbee for a bouncing good time, ricocheting around his enemies, knocking them over, dazing them if he’s lucky, slicing through if possible and interrupting channeling or slow casting spells. The stronger the shield, the greater the number of bounces and the more damage it does. It’s only for protection-specialists.
"Heilige Charger" (Sacred Charger) - Post AltS skill that appears in Otome Daisen and is mistaken to be a Child. His adventures aboard the Silvana takes him to new places and new friends, and one of them is Kaempfer, the Nether Dragon. Nether Dragons reside in rare pockets of voidspace where mana inexplicably aglutinates in nodes, and rule the twisted ecosystem that evolved there. They are also one of the few creatures are masters of time and space, and can manipulate wormholes to teleport from place to place to chase prey or migrate from node to node. They supposedly breath the eternal fire that burns in Hell and are the bane of Velka fairy tales. As of most adult dragons (Friedrich is a baby btw), Kaempfer wasn't trusting of outsiders, but unlike dragons, he was rather timid, and often was the butt of jokes of his friends and fraters over his pacifist and observative nature. After Kha went against orders and soloed a fleet of pirates trying to enslave his pater's dragonflight, forcing a detour of the Silvana in the process, the adolescent dragon saw the fearless Cleric as a source of strength, and with blessing from his Pater, began tailing the Silvana wherever she went to learn to be strong. Later out in the field against the invading Relic harvestors at the TSAB "Deep Spinward Frontier", Kaempfer aided Kha, and they've teamed up ever since. Kaempfer likes exploring places, and is free to wander about within limits, but when Kha calls, he'd drop everything and come flying. Kha uses the "Blessing of Providence" once again, this time making a dent in timespace, allowing Kaempfer to do the rest and hence reach him from anywhere in the multiverse. Thus the Cleric knight became the first Dragon Knight in centuries to ride a Nether Dragon. Kha's still learning Voidspeak, the tongue of the Nether Dragons, but he's getting more and more proficient. Later, using the technology learned from the Infinite Library, Kha creates a barrier jacket of silver plates and scales for Kaempfer, as well as an armed device that Kaempfer calls Eu'Jadinea, Voidspeak for Savior's Sword.
“Avenging Zorn” (Avenging Wrath) – The hallmark of the Cleric-knight! It can only be activated if the CK is under “anime battle frenzy”, and that he has enormous faith in the Light. If the Light so chooses to heed his cry, the weapon shall sing as the Light empowers the CK and clears his mind to destroy Their enemies. The CK feels neither fear nor pain, only an incredible sense of duty to be done, as he trusts his body to the Light. Think of it as a holy SEED Burst. As proof that he has finally arrived, Kha can activate his Wrath freely, during the last quarter of AlternateS. Also, his ultimate…
“Gesegnete Seele” (Blessed Soul) – [Ultimate, Passive] After Kha goes into “Avenging Wrath”, if he pushes himself further enough for his allies, the next stage of power is unleashed. He only attains this after dying once, and after realizing that he shouldn’t be obsessed with regaining what he had lost (be it Alicia or his “Eyes of God” spell, both would lead him down the path of darkness like Precia before him) and hurting those around him, but protecting the ones he cares about. His cartridges become blessed, and add power proportionally to the amount he already has. His skills are powered up. And he can only use this power if the Light deems it necessary.
“Kor Fuzion” (Core Fusion) – Kha disintegrates his body and fuses his core with Fate! With that Fate can use all of his powers, and combined with her own skills the total power of both mages is well over SSS class, bordering on the elusive X class. It creates a “warm feeling” of closeness (Up to you to have your characters probe how that feels like.) and should only appear later too.
Supportive
"Greller Schritt" (Flash Step) - As the name implies, Kha feeds mana into his step and moves a distance in a certain direction in the blink of the eye. He achieves Flash Impacts when used in conjunction with the Rapier spells, becoming the "eingefetteter Blitz" attack as Kha charges into his opponent, spear lowered like a lance. He can also perform Flash Intercepts when used in conjunction with the "Blessing of Providence", taking the proverbial bullet for his allies, after which the SdS triggers and fires a bolt of Light at the attacker.
"Wiedereinbau" (Replacement) - Another way Kha throws himself in place of others. This spell manipulates time and space and swaps Kha's and the target's positions. An offensive use would be to cast it on an opponent and let him have a taste of his own medicine! Demanding spell, requires much effort so Kha doesn't use it too often.
"Geständnis" (Confession) - Ceremonial spell. Replaces both "Shackle Beast" and "Hold Person". It is a powerful bind that uses holy energies to surround and immobilize a being within a field, and can be applied as an AOE.. The name suggests giving pause to whoever is trapped inside to think over his/her/its actions. The full chant, which unleashes the totally-paralyzing bind:
"O mitfühlende Seele springen in die Schwärzung, schauen unten nach anderen und verursachen ihnen die Schmerz... Eine Seele ertrank im sinful Karma... Reflektieren Sie sich auf Ihren Sünden, damit Sie gespeichert werden können!"
“O pitiful soul bound in darkness, looking down upon others and causing them pain… A soul drowned in sinful karma… Reflect on your sins, so that you may be saved!”
A quicker version would be “Reflect on your sins, so that you may be saved!” or just “Reflect on your sins!” Either way, both of them have lesser and lesser bind strength.
Restorative
"Wiederherstellung" (Restoration) - An instant cast greater restorative spell for all organic and inorganic targets. Cures moderate wounds or makes repairs to rather damaged equipment and programs.
"Abzahlung" (Redemption) - The greatest channeling restorative spell that works for all organic and inorganic targets in all kinds of states of devastation, a bit like how well Fate's "Recovery" works on Bardiche. It replaces the Power Words for Repair and Cure. The magic circle of the Naaru winged cross appears under the target while this spell is channelled. The same rules affect the amount of energy and cartridges used; the time duration of channeling; and the amount of concentration needed on the part of Kha. Even at Kha's mastery however; there are some wounds and damages that are irreversible.
"Reinigung" (Purification) - Cleanses a body or person of impurities, curses, poisons and disease. Number and nature of afflictions affects the CC and time needed for channeling.
"Weihung" (Consecration) - Creates a field of healing that saves Kha time and effort from individually casting Wiederherstellung throughout his group, because when it comes to that it means that the group is taking quite a beating! Also burns any unwelcomed intruder with holy fire within its radius, though some villains are strong enough to withstand the burn. It is often coupled with "Wachter-Engel".
Dichtung (Seals)
These spells manifest in the form of magical grenades, sort of an evolutionary off-shoot from the CMK-692 Velka cartridge system, with spell effects that work while they are docked to Kha's off-hand glove, or the Vergeltungform spearhead which has a docking groove to allow hands-free triggering. These cousins of Vita's croquet balls are baseball-sized spheres that can be shrunk to the size of ping pong balls for storage (Think pokeballs) with a safety key holding the trigger button down. Pulling the key and releasing the button would unleash the spell within for another kind of effect called an “Urteil” (Judgement), after which the Dichtung is discarded. Some Dichtung can be used by non CKs. Seals cast by retribution-specialists are strongest. Only one Dichtung can be active on a CK at any one time, and only 1 Judgement per CK can be active on a target.
Cleric-knight only
“Dichtung des Kreuzfahrers” (Seal of the Crusader) - Buffs the Rapier with the encouraging Light, allowing it to strike harder and faster when held in off-hand. When triggered, Kha is no longer buffed but it weakens the target's armor and protective fielding, making him/her/it more susceptible to attacks from other mages.
“Dichtung von Righteousness” (Seal of Righteousness) - Buffs the Rapier with punishing Light, allowing it to deal additional holy damage. When triggered, or thrown to be precise, it functions as a "holy hand grenade", dealing explosive light in an area and burning dark energies for more damage.
“Dichtung von Gerechtigkeit” (Seal of Justice) - Buffs the Rapier with blinding Light, granting it a chance to daze an opponent when Kha strikes from an appropriate angle. When triggered, it roots the target to a spot in space, preventing movement from that spot. He/she/it can still defend itself though.
Universally compatible (Can be triggered by others)
“Dichtung des Lichtes” (Seal of Light) - Buffs the Rapier with soothing Light that radiates out whenever Kha strikes a target, healing small wounds and refreshing fellow warriors around him. While it still burns his enemies, its touch can heal greater wounds of his allies. It functions as a torch in dark places. When triggered, it quick-charges up to 36 cartridges in a small radius, providing a second wind when the team needs it. Has no effect when held by others, but they can trigger the grenade for the instant reload.
“Dichtung der Vorsehung” (Seal of Providence) - Buffs the Rapier with a shimmering field of Light, allowing it to "bat" bigger spells back at the enemy. However, because the weapon becomes "blunter", it doesn't hurt as much. When triggered, it creates an impervious Divine Shield around the holder for several seconds. However, this field works both ways; no one can get in, nothing can get out either.
Segen (Blessings)
The second special class of spells available to CKs, and are the focus of protection-specialists like Kha. Being ceremonial spells, they have a short cast time. And if Kha loads a cartridge while casting the spell, a “Grösserer Segen” (Greater Blessing) is unleashed in an area that affects himself and his allies. The Greater chant has some differences from the standard Bless.
---
Segen casting:
Kha holds the TK horizontally, Velka magic circle under him. Weapon glows brighter as it absorbs magical power.
"Erfassen Sie in meinem Blatt, das Wesentliche von/der/des _______.... (Gather in my blade, the essence of ________...)" Kha whispered in reverrence.
"Segen Up."
"Rufen Sie die Energie innen, im Namen des Lichtes hervor! (Invoke the power within, in the name of the Light!)" Kha yelled as he tossed his weapon into a spin, caught it tail end down and drove it into the sigil, shooting a marine comet off to an ally, lighting him and his sigil up with power. "Segen des/der/von _________! (Blessing of _______!)"
---
Grösserer Segen casting:
Kha holds the TK horizontally, Velka magic circle under him. Weapon glows brighter as it absorbs magical power.
"Erfassen Sie in meinem Blatt, das große Wesentliche von/der/des _______... (Gather in my blade, the great essence of ________...)" Kha whispered in reverrence.
"Load Cartridge. Grösserer Segen."
"Zerstreuen Sie die Energie innen, im Namen des Lichtes! (Scatter the power within, in the name of the Light!)" Kha yelled as he tosses his weapon into a spin, catches it tail end down and stabs it into the sigil, creating a ripple of light that washed over his allies, leaving them buffed. "Segen des/der/von _________! (Blessing of _______!)"
------
"Segen der Könige" (Blessing of Kings) - Replaces "Power Word: Fortitude". It’s a buff that clears the mind; calms the soul; and increases one's overall well-being for a significant amount of time. Can be cast on self or allies. It is unique to protection-specialist CKs. The GS adds more, lasts longer and affects all allies within range.
"Segen von Gerechtigkeit" (Blessing of Justice) - New spell. It increases one's offensive power significantly for a short period of time, allowing them to pierce far thicker defenses than they could have without. The GS adds more, lasts longer and affects all allies within range.
"Segen der Freiheit" (Blessing of Freedom) - Replaces "Liberate self/others". An efficient bind breaker, even more so if Kha is free, and if he is casting on others. Time and effort varies with power of the bind, but it’s very much faster than other magicusers'. Once the bind is removed, the Segen leaves a residual buff that resists additional binds until it dissipates a short while after. The GS works faster, lasts longer and affects all allies within range.
"Segen von Energie" (Blessing of Energy) - A restorative spell that rapidly reduces fatigue over a short period of time, allowing one to catch his or her breath faster than usual. (Using RPG terms, this spell regenerates the target's 'mana' over time.) Not addictive like coffee, but once the person gets back into the fray, the spell is broken. The GS refreshes faster, lasts longer and affects all allies within range.
"Segen der Vorsehung" (Blessing of Providence) - Replaces "Power Word: Shield". It is an impervious, self-directed shield that takes the form of the marine Velka magic circle and is able to intercept very heavy attacks with little strain on Kha. The shield may only face one direction at any one time, but it can move on its on without corresponding hand motions, a must considering Vergeltung's 2-handed operation. As such, with more focus on Kha's part, it can be cast at range on another person. He starts off handling only one shield at a time, but as he gets stronger he can control up to 5. The GS can generate a directed shield for every ally or create just one Shield that’s rumored to be stronger than an SS-class’, and more than an SSS-class’ if he uses a hand to guide it. Many of Kha's offensive skills build upon this skill, in line with his "defensive offensive" combat strategy.
“Segen des Lichtes” (Blessing of Light) – Marks the person as a follower of the Light, and so when he/she is affected by friendly Light spells, he/she receives a bonus from the beings that watch over Kha, be it greater luck, vitality or strength. It is also used in non-combat situations like ceremonies and prayers. The GS grants them greater resistance to negative spells lasts longer and affects all allies within range.
“Segen des Opfers” (Blessing of Sacrifice) – Kha attaches a bit of his life force to the blessed, allowing him to take a portion, sometimes all if its below a certain value, of the hurt afflicted onto the person. It does not work on gemi-stigma, toxins and diseases. The GS allows him to take ALL the damage dealt to the allies around him, while he shares a bit of his energy with them and that sometimes comes close to killing him.
“Segen des Schongebiets” (Blessing of Sanctuary) –This works by augmenting the defenses of the blessed, such that when an attack is intercepted by the defensive barrier of the blessed, the Blessing immediately fires a reply in the form of a bolt of Light back at the attacker. Often coupled with Flash Intercepts, it is also great for countering the Evil Eyes spell of Dio, as the laser matrix blasting a prepared shield would trigger a hail of bolts right back at him. The GS would be Dio’s greatest nightmare, for not only does the Blessing affect all allies at once and strengthen their shields at the same time; the counterattack is far more numerous and brutal.
Auras
These spells manifest in the form of magical beam shields cored by jewels, another evolutionary off-shoot from the CMK-692 Velka cartridge system except this one operates on the protection system of the Velka mage. It works by changing the focusing gem of the field generator --Every mage has one, most of them have it built into their devices, but Kha has a much more developed version that’s separate from the main device and affixed to his barrier jacket— and as such changes the effects of the field around the mage. Kha, like other CKs, can project a lesser field into an area around him on top of his own passive barrier, but at lesser strength and range when compared to a holy-specialist CK.
Due to his lack of active charisma (he’s a cool lady killer but is absolutely clueless about it) and training, Kha only has 2 Auras at his disposal.
“Aura der Hingabe” (Aura of Devotion) – Cored by blessed blue Claudia crystals (caused by copper residue), the field disperses a special wavelength of mana that is readily used to power most protection systems, greatly increasing the defensive capabilities of the barrier jackets of his allies and himself. Kha’s unique Aura.
“Aura der Vergeltung” (Aura of Retribution) – Cored by blessed red Claudia crystals (caused by iron residue), the field disperses a self-sentient cloud of microscopic wisps that gather around an ally, including himself, within the field, sometimes making that person glow faintly. This layer attacks anyone trying to harm an affected ally with a small burst of Light.
Shields
Note: Kha no longer has Reactor Purge as he tuned his armor towards reflective-ness. Some small spells aimed at him can hence be redirected. Sakurazaki can bounce heavier spells. Also, even though his other skills may be less impressive, Kha is noted for having shields take can sometimes out-compete an SSS-class’ for hardiness.
"Göttliches Schild" (Divine Shield) - A self area shield that works by infusing divine energies with the BJ's passive Lamda field, creating a hardy shield that can survive more hits than other barriers. As a Protection-specialist, Kha can attack through this shield without penalty.
"Wächter-Engel" (Guardian Angel) - A massive wide area shield created by transferring all divine power into the Lamda field, and is most famous for the fleeting images that resemble Angels that form in the barrier film as it takes hits, hence its name.
