We start things off with Kyubey desperately waking Madoka over the distressing news that "someone" had kidnapped Mami, Homura and Kyouko... and Madoka actually knows two of them well enough for her to get genuinely worried!
Er, right, anyway... It's nice to see Hitomi really has more or less accepted the relationship between Madoka and Sayaka. On the other hand, the thoughts circling around in Madoka's mind for much of the morning weren't of very nice things. Like all good (girl)friends, Sayaka picked up on that. Really liked the conversation between her and Madoka, for the record. Definitely captured how I'd picture them acting in that scenario.
Unlike with her and Madoka though, there's not really much of a conversation between Sayaka and Kotetsu. Though, I will say Sayaka using Homura like that was awesome. Meanwhile, the rest of the scene proved interesting, for reasons that obviously come up later.
And the Sayaka narration ends with her pretending she's Homura by stalking Madoka. For her safety, of course. Then again, while Homura does it with foreknowledge of how to deal with any situations that come up, Sayaka's just kinda winging it here.
I'm... just gonna skip ahead a bit, as the next 20 or so paragraphs were kinda borrowed from Alliance. However, I will say the cheese referencing works a bit better with Mami than it did with Sayaka. A certain pastry-themed witch probably agrees with me on that... or would, if she wasn't long gone by this point.
However, when the scene diverges from Alliance material, things get pretty intense. It seems Sayaka
wouldn't be letting Madoka make the same mistake. Unfortunately, it didn't quite work as intended. Y'know, despite my remark about you doing a really good job of getting me to hate Kyubey's guts, I actually felt kinda bad for him, what with being blown up and all. Of course, those feelings of pity for one villain were replaced by an intense rage for another. Why I... I just...
really wanted to deliver a dropkick or something to Jinnai while demanding he get away from Sayaka. Of course, Kotetsu doing it is fine, too. In fact, it's probably a lot better that he's the one doing it, seeing as
I don't have an Iron Man-like power suit.
After some banter most definitely suitable for this very superhero-esque scene, we come back to what I was hinting at earlier: The appearance of Kotetsu's partner in crime-fighting, Barnaby Brooks! And boy, did he make an entrance as smashing as the one made by Kotetsu Kabu... Miki. Kotetsu Miki. And, with a little bit of Good Luck on their side, the team of
Tiger and Bunny landed a crushing blow to the would-be Emperor's glowing green necktie, and his dreams of global conquest along with it. Unfortunately, I have to take a break from the awesomeness of the scene to say... Kotetsu referring to the trio of rescued Puella Magi as cosplayers was
hilarious. As was Sayaka's remark about not going back to school any time soon due to it kinda being blown sky high.
Anyway, after that, we get a touching moment between Sayaka and two very important people in her life. As for Madoka's questions and hopes, well... we'll just have to wait until next time to find out, won't we?
