Wouldn't call Kodaka the hero, the harem lead maybe in which case he already assembed his collection. Yozora has an objective, which is why she started the neighbour club in the first place. Over time, her manuvures on Kodaka often backfires which is why she's tragic -> eg her advices to Yukimura.
As for her current appearance, it's supposed to attract female readers, in the same vein as Yozora and Sena's relationship.
There's been 0 background on Yozora's family so far so I always felt it as some type of trump card later.
