How "bad" he was? Care to point out how he was bad at the beginning of the series? He was taking on the Gaia on even footing, and only started losing when Stellar, Auel, and Sting all ganged up on him 3 vs 1. Which is very normal for skilled pilots. One sentence/phrase/comment: Kira vs Clotho + Shani + Olga.
