The comedy was very consistent with the circumstances that sparked at Scarron's inn.
The episode itself even remind me of Inukami due to the Scarron character; macho build with pinky personality.
I feel sorry for the guy that got Scarron's special service.
What's so good about the pranks and comicity in the episode was due to Louise's uptight pride and Noble demeanor. We get the best one-liners I have seen so far.
Spoiler:
(Saito looks at Jessicas' breasts while Louise watches them on)
Louise: So it's the breasts?! Even for him, it's still about the BREASTS?!!
(Jessica places Saito's hand on her left bossom, after having closed in on him seductively)
Jessica: In exchange, I'll teach you many things
(Sweating profusely)
Saito: Teach me what?
(Louise storms furiously into the room with glaring, devil eyes)
Louise: WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!!
(Making an excuse after having been busted in a compromising situation)
Saito: Gathering information!
(The taxpayer closes in on Louise's breasts sighing dissapointment)
Tax collector: Does this shop now hires boys to work here?
(Realizing Louise's a girl)
Tax collector: Since you're so plain, I thought for a moment you were a boy.
(Saito steps in to protect Louise)
Saito: I'm the only one who can touch Louise!
(Louise blushes in silent hearing that from Saito)
NUMBER 1.
(Princess Henrietta gestures her left-hand towards Saito, but he doesn't know what to do next. Louise berates him that's a courtesy meant that he may now kiss the Princess. Saito gets the wrong idea, however.)
Saito: Then, may I beg you to excuse me.
(Saito approaches the princess, grabs her hand, and makes a sudden movement to pull her onto him. The princess looks dumbfounded, as Saito kisses her on the lips in the most bishounen fashion, that the magic fills the air. It looks to be Henrietta's first kiss ever because faints in shock afterwards while Louise is aghast and in horror)
The last bit of the episode sparks the initial stages of the bigger conflict that our heroes will become involved for later.
