No, they do not say "laugh out loud" which doesn't really make sense on it's own anyway, they just say "LOL".
I came very close to beating down this kid that sat in front of me and kept saying that with his friend "LOL, LOL, LOL". I warned him to stop doing that because it was annoying and he did.
