Well that story arc... the problem was mainly that they kept nearly all of the Kitamura emo bull and made cuts elsewhere.

We talked a lot about Ami's material, but Minori and Ryuuji's talk on the walk from school, dinner at the restaurant, various scenes between Ryuuji and Taiga including the rather sweet scene where she returns the scarf. If they had expanded the episodes, it wouldn't be Kitamura you'd be seeing more of.
