Actually, its the other way round: after fully maturing under the influence of the metal, the gold irokane leaves her body, bleaching her hair silver. The natural color would eventually return, or it might not, that waits to be seen in Aria canon.
Now that Mrs Kujo is a grandma (that is often mistaken to be Elise's gray-haired imouto), we may never know.
Well... You are talking to the person who discovered evidence that Nanoha's present world belongs to the far future of Warhammer 40K, and that Ancient Belka was the Imperium of Man.

"...I'm bored."
A ceramic pipe in one hand and a bag of sweets on the other, a girl with golden hair and stunning green eyes approaches Tokyo Butei High School's bulletin board. As the descendant of the Gray Wolf Victorique de Blois, the girl named Èlise Kujo inherited both the infinite wisdom... and the low tolerance to boredom... of her grandmother.
That boredom eventually took her to the bulletin board where Butei would pick up missions. But...
"These are not Chaos enough."
A short glance at the different pieces of paper and Èlise realizes that there supposed "missions" are too menial for the likes of a Gray Wolf like her.
"What is this? Fetching things at a certain time period? Surveillance? Profile research? What kind of tasks are these?"
In comparison, she has been assigned to several cases that are too dangerous for a student to go alone, and it often required several teams of highly-trained fellow DA (Detectives Armes in France). Not to mention her last ordeal with her partner Jim Bean, who is aptly called as the "Black Reaper" due to his constant exposure to life-threatening things.
Fortunately, there are no one around to hear her mumblings.
Èlise decides that it might be much better if she returns to her "secret garden"; she's already planning on reading some novels to spend time, and she could just think of what to do to a certain Black Reaper on the way.
Soon, a particular song plays on a device that hangs on her back.
Although partly startled by the sound (she forgot to tweak the volume controls after immersing herself in her sweets), she holds on to the book-sized electronic device while still clinging to the bag of sweets like a child squeezing her favorite teddy bear.
On the display are the letters NEET in a fancy cursive font on a maroon background.
"I don't remember being contacted by someone who uses this number or name..."
She pressed on the screen, not even giving a thought on who the other person on the line is, and she watches as the person on the other line — a young girl surrounded by numerous LCD monitors — speaks to Èlise.
"I'm glad you've answered my call immediately, Kujo Èlise-san."

A bored spy decided that he should start working on his end of year assignment. Maybe an easy one to get top marks for writing the perfect concluding report.
...
Naaa.
Bean headed for the board. He actually missed seeing that thing; never had a lull day ever since July. Athra and Manami were hauling him all over the world, he ran into Prof Xie one too many times, and even Nemo had plans that he was unable to discuss with himself, lest that psyker in the Iron Avengers decide to rend his flesh...
He flashed back to Area 51, and his encounter with Morgraine Pendragon. His use of the Excalibur against a beast let loose by EU. His returning it to Athra.
"I will claim this blade one day. Until then, you may keep it. But know that your muddied blood will never unseal it."
Jim sighed. Maybe Elise would be interested in solving the mystery of the two Pendragons.
He didn't expect to get to tell Kujo about it,
outside of the Botanica.
"Yo, Elis--"
Jim hadn't completed the greeting when Kujo ground her heel into his foot.
"
--ITAAAI!!"
"You're late, Bean." Elise huffed as she stormed off. "We got work to do."
Didn't she like those rock candies? Jim wondered to himself as he straightened himself out.
