Shiori had trouble listening to music. I think the only reason she had magazines about Kanon was because she wanted more info on who Keima was rumored to be dating, and the only way Shiori knew how to learn more was through reading.
If Kanon was that important to Shiori, I think Shiori would have based a character on Kanon in her fiction. However, there was little mention of Kanon at all while Keima was one of the main characters.
