If that happens, I'll go nuts. Mainly because I've seen that type of symbolic ending and message done several times before (one of those times with that specific flower, even). Worse yet, I'm inclined to agree with you, because upon inspection of the opening, the flower used to represent Menma in the opening
does look like one.

EDIT: Ah, okay I see it. I just saw another case you didn't mention in Episode 9 when she claps her hands. Had you not brought it up, I probably would have thought of it as part of the bad backlight bleeding from my monitor. >.o;;
