If you think of it that way, then getting past Hatukuji's prickly exterior is not much of a positive 'power', but rather just a prerequisite for getting sucked in by the snail.

True, it can be that Mayoi had other "victims" in the past, and we just never know what happened.

Although in fairness to her, Araragi did mention that she was "preventing" other people from getting stuck with her by always saying "I hate you".
