Anime has changed few things in several last episodes while manga still keeps going.
I noticed that you are including some not really sad series so how about giving
Seirei no Moribito a try? It actually has some dramatic as well as heartwarming moments. Did not bring me to tears but defiantly pulled some strings.
At least more than Claymore did
