Yes. In the first season when she first mentioned it, he had a flashback to his mother telling him a bedtime story about it being destroyed.

I think it's pretty clear she's being stupid the whole time, but because of partial insanity/grief. She's not herself.

And about the preview: (someone pointed this out to me because I was too shell shocked to really notice) the color palette for that preview matches that used during Horo's "imagination" scenes earlier in the episode and nothing else. If you look at previous episode previews they look normal. Hence, that preview is in Horo's (or Lawrence's) imagination.
