My take on Holo is just based on the two seasons of anime that I've seen.
She is a very interesting character and an attractive one but I think that she would be difficult to get along with. She can be very rude and her drinking appears to be problematic. She is also manipulative and as a wolf is probably predatory. But to balance that she needs companionship (a pack mate?) and when her trust is won will likely be a loyal friend for life.
