The part where Yuiichi discovers Makoto's scar, the very one that he bandaged all those years ago, worked so much better IMHO.

But yeah, apart from that one thing, I'm definitely liking the new version more

But, in Makoto's case, we can be all angsty now until her arc resolves. There wasn't any time for that in the Toei version imo.
